Meeting Information

Meeting Locations
Members should check under the Members Only section for meeting locations. Be sure to read the weekly program reminder email for last-minute location changes.

Regular Meetings Procedures
The Old Guard “Program Year” commences June 1 and ends May 31 of each year.

Regular meetings will begin promptly at 10:15 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. Hospitality Meetings will begin at 9:30 a.m.

All members are encouraged to wear their Old Guard name tags at meetings of the Old Guard.

Inclement Weather Policy
The Old Guard will notify members via email early on Wednesday morning if any meeting is canceled, or has a delayed start, or goes on as scheduled.

The Old Guard policy follows that of the Princeton School System. Closings or delayed openings are announced beginning at 5:30 a.m. Call (609) 806-4202.
  1. Schools closed: Old Guard meeting is canceled.
  2. Delayed opening: Old Guard will meet at the usual time.
  3. Hospitality Time Note: If schools are opening with a 90-minute delay on a hospitality day, hospitality time will still begin at 9:30 a.m., with the meeting beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Zoom Meetings
Bad weather does not usually affect internet access. Hence, these meetings will occur unless the speaker is ill or has difficulty attending. If a meeting has to be canceled, a message to that effect will be posted. Participants will see the message when joining the Zoom meeting. If there is sufficient notice, a cancellation email will be sent as early as practicable.

Guest Policy and Procedures
All guests must be hosted by an Old Guard Member.

In-Person Meetings
Members should exercise judgment in inviting guests because of the limited capacity of our venues. Repeat guests should be an infrequent exception; frequent participation in meetings by the same goes is inconsistent with the nature of a member organization,

Hosts should register their guests on the guest attendance sheet at the front table, being sure to check the box if the guest intends to file an application.

A member nominating a guest for membership should make that status clear and provide a concise biographical statement about the proposed nominee.

Zoom Meetings
Members should not forward Zoom invitations or links directly to guests. A member should reply to the meeting announcement to the Old Guard email address, [email protected], giving the name and email address of the guest, if possible, by noon on the day before the meeting. The Old Guard will send guests their own invitations with an attendance link.

Guest attendance at Zoom meetings does not satisfy the required introduction of an applicant. The Proposer and the applicant must attend an in-person meeting at which the applicant will be introduced to members.
