Hospitality Time

Inclement Weather Policy
In-Person Meetings:
The Old Guard policy follows that of the Princeton School System. Closings or delayed openings are announced beginning at 5:30 a.m.
Call (609) 806-4202.
Schools closed: Old Guard meeting is canceled.
Delayed opening: Old Guard will meet.
Hospitality Time Note: If schools are opening with a 90-minute delay on a hospitality day, there will be no hospitality time, and the meeting will begin at 10:15 a.m.
Zoom Meetings:
Bad weather does not usually affect internet access. Hence, these meetings will occur unless the speaker is ill or has difficulty attending. If a meeting has to be canceled, a message to that effect will be posted. Participants will see the message when joining the Zoom meeting. If there is sufficient notice beforehand, a cancellation email may also be sent.
Old Guard Guest Policy and Procedures
All guests must be hosted by an Old Guard Member.
In-Person Meetings:
Hosts should register their guests on the guest attendance sheet at the front table being sure to check the box if the guest intends to file an application. Members who will be nominating a guest for membership should give a short statement about the proposed nominee when called upon.
An individual guest may attend one regular Old Guard meeting during a program year, except for announced "Guest Days," when previous guests may attend a second time, at the invitation of an Old Guard member.
Zoom Meetings:
A member should reply to the meeting announcement to the Old Guard email address, [email protected], giving the name and email address of the guest, if possible by noon on the day before the meeting. The Old Guard will send guests their own invitations with an attendance link.
Guest attendance for Zoom meetings is unlimited, unlike the in-person meetings above, except in the case of someone who has already submitted an application after being a guest. For the required “introduction” of an applicant, the Membership Committee will ask the Proposer and Applicant to attend another meeting, at which time some details from his/her application will be shared in the announcement and with the Zoom meeting participants.
